What are some good colleges for studying history?

I'm a freshman in high school and I'm interested in studying European History as my major and Journalism as my minor. I was thinking Columbia because it has great programs of each of those (as far as I can tell) and I would love to go to school in NYC. I'm planning on getting my Masters in Journalism after college (definitely at Columbia) because I'd like to write for a newspaper or magazine. Any other suggestions?

Please no "you're way too young to be thinking about college!" type answers.
Also, if I'm getting a 3.94 GPA do you think I could get into Columbia?

sorry, i don't have much of an answer.. but just making sure..
do you write for your school newspaper?
just wondering; i wanted to do the same thing, get degrees in journalism and history, but once i started writing for the paper, i realized it wasn't like what i thought it was.

with that GPA, i'm sure that you could get into columbia, but the "rigor" of your classes matters a lot now, as does being in extracurriculars (but if your guidance counselors are anything like ours, i'm sure you've memorized that shizz).
